These remedies are a form of energy medicine like Reiki, TCM and Acupuncture - and they penetrate the aura or the body's energy field, flooding it with positive vibrations to dispel negative emotions to activate the body's innate self-healing abilities.

2) How are they made? What goes into them? Bach's flower remedies are made from wild flowers collected from the English countryside in late spring and summer. 20 remedies are made using the sun method - whereby flower blossoms are soaked in unpolluted spring water in the sun for up to four hours, before being discarded. The potenised or energised water is then mixed with an equal amount of brandy. This solution is then further diluted with vegetable glycerine and spring water (1:5 ratio) to form the stock bottles we carry. The remaining 18 remedies are made by the boling method in which the flowering parts of the plant are boiled for half an hour in pure water before undergoing the same preparation process. Bach flower remedies therefore contain no plant matter - only the healing energy imprints of each specific flower. We work closely with members of the British Association of Flower Essence Producers to ensure the authenticity of our products.

3) What are they commonly used for? The essences are used to dispel and soothe a number of negative emotional states - including a lack of self-esteem, lack of confidence, guilt, heartbreak, anger, jealously, mood wings, indecisiveness, hysterics, possessiveness, self-pity, procrastination, burnout, deep anguish, stress and anxiety.

4) Please recommend three remedies for three typical ailments people face.

Walnut - to help individuals adjust to major life changes such as marriage, a new baby, moving house, new job etc

Wild Oat - when there is an intrinsic need to find your true vocation in life. This remedy keeps you focused on the right path;

Olive - when you are stressed or burnt out from doing just too much - both physically and mentally.
So far, these have also been my three bestsellers.

5) Tell us more about Rescue remedy
Due to copyright issues with Nelson's (the original proprietor of alcoholic Bach Flower Remedies in the UK), we have had to rename Dr Bach's five-flower composite remedy Emergency Elixir. Both our version - and theirs - contain exactly the same substances - Clematis, Star of Bethlehem, Rock Rose, Impatiens and Cherry Plum. The only key difference is that we have chosen to use vegetable glycerine as a preservative in place of brandy, to make our remedies accessible to a wider audience, including children, infants, breastfeeding mums, pregnant women as well as pets! This remedy - as our name suggests - should only be used in emergencies. It calms and soothes in terse or tense situations or when facing an actual emergency. Some of my customers use it before attending crucial meetings or when approaching new clients. I use it myself before getting on planes as I am a nervous flyer. Doctor Oz, Martha Stewart, Cate Blanchett, Jennifer Aniston and Selma Hayek purportedly use Dr Bach's composite remedy to keep them calm and collected during a crisis.

Notes:
All Bach Flower Remedies by Esoteric Remedies are alcohol-free.
Traditionally, Bach Flower Remedies are preserved with brandy or cognac.

Esoteric remedies is the only online purveyor of alcohol-free Bach Flower Remedies in Asia. All remedies may be purchased online at www.esotericremedies.com

Esoteric Remedies' Rescue Remedy (known as "Emergency Elixir") and Crab Apple, are now retailing at Wayan Retreat Wellness Spa.
Wayan will also begin offering treatments with selected remedies in June.
